We are happy to announce that the newly built utility house, water intake point, and the restored mill pond of Lielborne Manor have been handed over to the public.
The following infrastructure is available free of charge in the utility house: well-equipped toilets, showers, and a small kitchen. In the near future, in cooperation with the municipal authority of the Upper Daugava region, TAKA, a brochure stand will be installed, where tourist information about the immediate surroundings will be available. Both local residents and tourists from near and far are invited to use the infrastructure.
Considering that several tourist routes pass through the Lielborne manor: both Velomaršruts no. 35 “Daugava loki”, “Mežtaka”, as well as Lielborne manor and its park are one of the famous sightseeing and recreation objects of the Daugava Loki and the region, we hope that visitors will appreciate the additional amenities provided, including the opportunity to rinse off and refill water reserves.
A great addition to the already-established park infrastructure is the restored mill pond, which has been delighting visitors for some time. The pond was restored by SIA “Meliors Krauja” and joint efforts have succeeded in restoring the pond of the former mill in the Borne River valley. We invite you to visit too!
The project “Improving the Infrastructure of the Lielborne manor recreation complex by introducing renewable energy sources and nature-friendly technologies” was implemented under LAD Project no. within the framework of 19-03-AL28-A019.2201-00007.
