A bit about history

The Lielborne Manor is the only manor complex that has been fortunately preserved in the ”Daugavas Loki” Nature Park. At the moment, you can see the old castle, presumably built in the 18th century and wonderfully preserved to this day. The Manor’s house, which is a typical cottage-style building of the Augšzeme, can be proud of its design and details that create a peculiar artistic impression. But the new castle was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the style of classicism. The most recent part of the Lielborne Manor’s house was rebuilt at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

In the Manor’s park, which covers both sides of the Borne river, you can see two types of old trees: oak and elm, as well as larch and the majestic pine. The walking path of the park takes you along the rapids of the Borne river on its steep slopes. Be ready to enjoy a charming view of the banks of the Daugava river, the historic ruins of the mill, waterfall and the restored millpond.

This place will be loved by families with children, where kids enjoy a variety of attractive opportunities for fun activities. At the disposal of children – a swing, playground, climbing wall, outdoor exercise equipment. And for the parents – a cup of delicious coffee or fragrant tea while kids enjoy their own activities.
